How much the Solar Power System cost for my house?

Most people will ask how much it costs when they want to buy something…

I too will be concerned about the cost..

90% of our clients, the first thing they asked is pricing. They are interested but want to know the price!

In fact, it’s more important to know what system size (kWp) is suitable for them, and what are the resulting savings in electricity bill!

Imagine two different Solar Service Providers offer you RM30K, but one gives you lower kWp or same kWp but lower savings in a month. Which one do you choose?

What system size (kWp) is suitable for you?

Since there is no such thing as selling Solar Energy to TNB nowadays.

Thus, you need to understand the concept of Net Energy Metering (NEM). And make sure you don’t install the oversize system and waste your money

Here is how NEM works!

During daytime, your Solar Power system generates solar energy and these solar energy will be used first. Whenever the power is not enough, TNB power will kick in automatically.

Usually, we are not at home during day time (means daytime power usage is lower). So you will have solar energy that is unused. This extra solar energy will be sent to the TNB grid.

The extra solar energy sent to TNB will be like your “advance payment” to TNB.

During night time, there is no Solar Power generation! So you will need to use TNB power.

Every month, you will still receive your TNB bill for the power you use during night time. This bill will be offset (or paid) by your “advanced payment” in TNB.

Do take note that your “advance payment” in TNB is only valid for 12 months. It will be forfeited if you can’t finish using it in 12 months.

Which is why you shouldn't oversize your Solar Power system (kWp) for your house.

So, make sure you install a Solar Power system that generates solar energy just about your monthly usage (kWh).

How much a solar system costs is very much dependent on the size (kWp) you install, quality of materials and workmanship etc factors (and it’s site specific).

BUT! By knowing the suitable system size to be installed, and its impact on bill saving, only you can make accurate comparisons on offers from Solar Service Providers.
